Compost Food waste. Why compost? Do it for yourself, your family, your neighbor, community, and future. The act of compost creates a sustainable and resilient process that has benefits environmentally, socially, economically.
Starting August 1st we will be conducting a composting pilot for the community of Thunderbolt Ga to research the success rate of how small changes can create large environmental impacts. Even if you cannot participate in the active movement locally you can show your support by bringing compost awareness to the public and wear a statement that actually means something. Awareness and education are crucial to the success of such a large change in society. The act of composting your food waste versus putting it in the regular garbage or down the drain saves in longevity of the landfills and instead puts it back in the health of our food cycle. It's time we view 40% of our waste as a natural regenerative resource. A resource that cleans and conserves water, reduces green house gases, sequesters carbon, reduces chemicals, and replenishes rapidly depleting growing medium for crops. An absolute win!
