"Sukur Shirts" & Funds for the Recovery Match for Sukur, Nigeria - A World Heritage Site

The World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) program engages with local people groups in the rescue, repair, and maintenance of United Nations designated World Heritage Sites. This project in Sukur, Nigeria is part of the WHV 2020 - 2021 Campaign, with the theme "Fostering Youth Commitment towards World Heritage". The Sukur project was originally planned for 2020, but COVID19 delayed 'Recovery Sukur' a whole year - now being held in July 2021. The UN does not provide funds for the sites directly and in recent years the Sukur site was listed on the UN "endangered" list from a Boko Haram attack in 2014. The Sukur culture mountaintop site is a strenuous 90 minute hike up stone walkways to the top of the Mandara Mountains in NE Nigeria where you will find the stone architecture of the traditional rulers residence (our design). A trusted local NGO in Nigeria, AFIDFF (African International Documentary Festival Foundation) https://afidff.org is the UNESCO partner working with Adamawa state & federal govenment partners. The Sukur people need your support/ donations. You may do this by purchasing T-shirts or donating funds only on this site. Three Uni-sex T-shirts, one Uni-Sex 3/4 length sleeve, and two womens (scoop and v-neck) shirts are available. Check women's sizing carefully as they run small. Direct shipping is an extra charge, but very reasonable with delivery anticipated in mid-May. Supporters living in S.
