The sorority was founded in 1901 at the Virginia State Female Normal School (now known as Longwood University) and its emphasis is on “developing women of poise and purpose.” With over 100,000 members initiated it its lifetime, Alpha Sigma Alpha is a proud supporter of The Special Olympics and the S.
