"My volunteer service class decided to order shirts from CustomInk for our annual charity barbecue. This year we raised money for staff members who are participating in the 3-Day Race for the Cure event. We raised $1600 in two hours! Way to go WHS!" - WHS Community Outreach Woodbury, MN (Jul 14, 2011)

Ireland's Eye and Ireland's Own are a lot like the People's Friend with a regional slant to them. You get local hirtsoy articles, profiles of Irish historical figures (famous as well as little-known) and a few short fiction pieces.Last year I sent for guidelines from Ireland's Own:"Ireland's Own includes two short storis and a number of non-fiction items in the regular weekly issue." (there are also Specials for Christmas, St. Patrick's Day, etc) "In general, we favour fictional stories of approximately 2,000 words, written in the 'straight forward' style, typifying the 'good yarn'. The magazine is not an outlet for experimental or impressionistic writing. Tales should reflect the magazine's ethos, having good general appeal developed through a well explored story-line, with an Irish orientation where possible."They do accept e-mail submissions at , but I never received a reply to a submission of mine, not even an acknowledgment. Hmmm...Otherwise, submit by post, typed etc. on A4 paper to the address printed on the magazine (I don't have a copy here)."We generally pay 65 euros per 2000 word story...cheques are issued a few weeks after publication. While we do not want to discourage anyone, it should be noted that we do have a large regular corps of contributors who look after most of our needs..." That last bit is in bold. *sigh*Hope that helps.Meanwhile, glad to find you!
