"We had a benefit for a member of our community who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Our shirts from Custom Ink were great and were a huge success. The benefit was also a huge success thanks to the overwhelming support of our wonderful little community and all the volunteers that worked so hard to make food and solicit for donations and organize everything. We had a bake sale, kids games, silent auction, live auction, bucket raffle, duck bingo and live entertainment." - CANCER SUCKS-Duane Rittmer Benefit (Mar 22, 2011)

For such a small community it was amazing to see the support from everyone, whether it was a co-worker, a friend, a stranger, even the young kids in the area helped out. What a blessing it is to know how much people care and are willing to share even when times are tough. When times get tough, Sabula gets tougher!! :o)

Words cannot express how awesome this event was for Duane and the whole family ! I've never witnessed such caring and generous acts of kindness in so many people at one event like this. The people of Sabula, Iowa and the surrounding communities ROCK !!!

Very loving and caring family. They have been through a lot. Just remember keep being strong for one another. Everyone is praying for you. Hang in there Duane you are a fighter.

Duane is one of the best guys around, and it showed at his benefit. He is a wonderful father and a great husband. The shirts said it perfect ( CANCER SUCKS ) with a purple ribbon for pancreas cancer. We all wear them to show our feelings.

Duane lost his battle with Pancreatic cancer on October 5th, 2011. Many of us still wear our Cancer Sucks shirts from the benefit in honor of Duane and all people who struggle with this deadly disease.
