"The idea started when the Young Governors wanted to cure the plague of litter and pollution in the community of Elmhurst. We made this our main project of the year because we were informed by the public of this issue. Now, what else did we, Young Governors need to complete the image of being an empowered youth striving to change something? Of course a shirt that represented what we were doing! The color of the shirt symbolized our fiery passion to change this tiny world starting with Elmhurst. Our project took place on August 17th in Elmhurst park which was once an area of storage for toxic waste. "
