Guest Bartending Event hosted by Young Survivors

"This photo is from a guest bartending happy hour event we held at a local Irish pub in Downtown Philly named Fado! For an hour we raised tips to help fund our new young survivor initiative, in which we have partnered with Susan G. Komen to create called "The Big Pink Footprint". The Philadelphia affiliate is currently the only affiliate in the country to have this initiative, which focuses on the unique needs of breast cancer survivors who were diagnosed between the ages of 20-40. Our goal is to turn this into a national presence, so we work hard and want everything we do to make an impact! With each of us being young survivors, we ordered these incredible tank tops from Customink, who helped us customize each tank to display our individual ages at diagnosis. Knowing that happy hours in the city can get pretty packed and noisy, we wanted to wear something that would make an impact, and what would be better than revealing to the patrons of the pub something they can truly relate to - - - our age!! It was a truly inspiring event and we ended up raising over $500 in only one hour! In addition, we received so much amazing feedback from those who saw our ages and were inspired to stay aware! We plan on doing many many more of these types of events, which is why I am so thankful that we also ordered these in light pink and black!
