"In October 2012 I participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - New York! I knew I wanted to make a t-shirt, but wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I came across a picture of me and my mother in Long Beach Island. The picture is one of my favorites and I am able to see my mom happy and healthy! This picture reminds me of all I love about my mom. She was the strongest women I knew..she taught me how to stay strong, how to love others, and most importantly how to love myself. Custom Ink did an amazing job making this picture as beautiful as they could. They called me to edit it, to help make it look perfect on the shirts. They even made suggestions on ways to make it look better. Custom Ink took time to ask about the event and what the walk was all about. The back reads "In memory of Debbie Saglimbene. In honor of Rina Pia & Trisha Bass" The New York walk raised over $8 million for breast cancer research! My mom did the Avon Walk many years ago and thanks to Custom Ink I was able to have my mom with me every step of the 39.3 miles."
"Team Pink Penguins is a group of women comprised weather forecasters of the Air National Guard. Our team captain is a cancer survivor who encouraged us to join her team, raise money, and walk 39.3 miles in two days in The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! She asked me to design a team shirt. "Three friends - walking for a cause - raising money for the Avon Breast Cancer foundation. As we trained for the 39 mile walk, we were given a nickname of the 3 Muskateers, and so played with the name to associate it with breasts - hence the 3 Brazeers! The event is made into a fun filled event with many different references to breasts and boobs - to bring attention to the very important and serious cancer Ordering the shirts was EASY - the staff were so helpful and guided me through the process - the shirts arrived in good time for the deadline in July....and we were very pleased with the quality, the color, and fit. We had many wonderful comments along the walk - and took many pictures along the way. Our favorite is in front of the beautiful Museum of Fine Arts in SF. My 23 year old son even wore his pink shirt - proudly supporting me as he walked with us :) "
