Team Sal 2014 by Relay for Life Team Sal - 2 months ago

Team Sal 2014 T-Shirt Photo

"Our shirts were for the Menifee Relay for Life, which was held on May 17th. This is our second year to have our own Relay for Life Team. Team Sal was created after my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. We have participated with the Relay for 5 years now. Last year we raised $10,000 and this year we came close to $5,000! So we hope each year we raise as much as we can. My husband has been in remission for almost two years. He went back to work a year ago and continues to serve his country as an Air National Guard and the county in law enforcement. He has only a 10% survival rate for 3 years and continues to live his life like nothing ever happened. We are VERY proud of his continued strength. You can follow his fight on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SalsStory"

Just Keep Swimming T-Shirt Photo

"My good friend was diagnosed with cancer about two months ago at 15 years old she not only has to deal with the drama of being a teenager but also cancer. So my friends and I walked all night at Relay for Life with and for my friend Michelle. And thanks to customink we had the best shirts there for an amazing cause. Our team is Just Keep Swimming because Michelle is an amazing swimmer and we know that one day she'll get back into the pool. Please vote for us to support Michelle the sweetest girl I've ever met and to eventually end cancer."

Cancer Isn't Free by Team SAMFund's first runner - Alumni Leader Kyle - 3 months ago

Cancer Isn't Free T-Shirt Photo

"This picture was taken right after Kyle finished a full marathon in Nashville, TN, just a few weeks ago. He is triumphant, grateful and probably super exhausted... but there is so much more behind his smile. Kyle is a young adult cancer survivor. He finished treatment almost exactly four years ago and decided to celebrate his upcoming “cancer-versary” by training for and running in his first marathon. If that wasn’t meaningful enough, he used it as an opportunity to raise funds for other young adult cancer survivors who are struggling the way he was. In his words, "Cancer is a devastating disease to everyone it touches, but it is particularly difficult on young adults. Transitioning into your 20s and 30s is difficult; the job market is tough, real estate is expensive and the cost of tuition is at an all time high. Now imagine that you have just finished cancer treatment. You have lost valuable time and limited savings. You feel like you are years behind everyone else in your age group. To top it off, you are suddenly faced with unexpected expenses from residual and new medical bills from follow-up tests and check-ups. When all of these issues collide, how do you find a job, pay for rent and afford school? While there is no magic bullet to solve the financial challenges of young adult cancer survivors, The SAMFund is the only organization in the country dedicated to helping young adults recover from the financial blow of cancer. The SAMFund’s hallmark program provides direct financial assistance to young adult survivors that help pay medical bills, subsidize rent and support family planning activities among other needs." In running this marathon and through his fundraising efforts, Kyle launched "Team SAMFund," which will hopefully become a key fundraising and awareness-raising program for The SAMFund. We had ordered shirts for him through another company, and the long story short is that a few days before Kyle was set to leave Boston for Nashville, the shirts still hadn’t arrived and no one would return our calls. In a panic, we called CustomInk to see if “super rush shipping” really meant *super rush* shipping, and not only was the representative helpful and friendly, she had the shirts in Kyle’s hands two days later. Needless to say, the shirts looked fantastic and everyone who saw Kyle run knew that he was a proud member of “Team SAMFund.” Thank you, CustomInk, for saving the day and for giving “Team SAMFund” its proper launch. So many young adult survivors will benefit from his efforts and, even more importantly, can draw inspiration from his story. #cancerisn’tfree… but The SAMFund is here to help! "

Colon Cancer Awareness T-Shirt Photo

"My team and I wore our shirts for the Undy 5000, which helps to bring awareness to colon cancer. I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at 26 so spreading the word about colon cancer is something that's so important to me! Custom Ink was awesome, they sent me a proof of my shirts so I could make sure they were right. My team looked awesome!"

Team Stephanie T-Shirt Photo

"A friend had surgery to remove a tumor in her throat. To support her, me and some other ladies decided to make it official with shirts. Stephanie was happy and proud to have such support. Stephanie also happens to be a girl scout leader. So, she is important to us as friends but is also very important to ten little girl scout Daisies. She deserves a great team behind her."

Go. Fight. Cure. by Sullivan Softball - 3 months ago

Go. Fight. Cure. T-Shirt Photo

"The photo is of the Sullivan High School softball team. This is their first year with new coaches teaching a new program. The event was our annual Swing for the Cure game against another regional high school team. We hold this event every year because one of the girls in the opposing team was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. This game was started in honor of her and her struggle. Another player from this region who didn't get to celebrate her sixteenth birthday died last year of brain cancer. This game was intensified by the loss of one of our own. The girls play year round with each other and against each other. Our experience with customink has been the best service we have received. They got our order near perfect and got it just in time for the game. Customer service was amazing and we look forward to working with them every year!"
