Tuesdays with Morrie Author Mitch Albom Gets Custom Inked by Mrs. Leigh Ann Chow - 6 months ago
"I am an 11th grade English teacher at Mechanicsburg Area Sr. High School in Mechanicsburg, PA. We worked with Custom Ink to create two t-shirts that were the culmination of a project in which students designed a t-shirt featuring one of Morrie Schwartz's "Morrieisms" -- short, witty sayings featured in Mitch Albom's best-selling memoir, Tuesdays with Morrie. Each class picks its winner and then all 12 classes' shirts are voted on by the entire junior class. The winning design is made into a t-shirt that students are able to purchase. Proceeds are donated to the ALS Association, the charity that supports research for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) from which Morrie suffered. This year, we had two top designs that were nearly tied, so we decided to make both. Because Custom Ink was so easy to work with and so affordable, we were able to order to 80 shirts and raise more than $175 to donate to ALS. As if this were not amazing enough, on June 23, Mitch Albom himself visited the Harrisburg area. After his talk, I was able to present him with one of our t-shirts and tell him a little about our project. The photo shows me (wearing the "little bird" design) presenting the "wave" design shirt to Mr. Albom. Custom Ink has been a wonderful partner in this project, even going so far as to make an unsolicited donation to our fundraising to the ASL society. I could not ask for a better experience and we will no doubt use Custom Ink again next year when we hope to make our fundraising efforts an even bigger success!"
Great Strides Walk For Cystic Fibrosis by Walk A Mile For Kyle - 6 months ago
"Every spring Students from East rockaway High School join the my team in the Great Strides walk to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. The number of students walking grows a little larger every year. So much so we need to reserve a bus to transport all of the students to the walk held at the campus of New York Institute of Technology on Long Island NY. This year's walk was a little more meaningful to us all. Even after all the devastation to our homes and our school due to Super Storm Sandy the students still showed up in force to make this year's walk even more successful for our team."

Hawks Kick Cancer at Relay for Life by Hawks 12U Travel Soccer Team - 6 months ago
"Our team participated in the local high school's Relay for Life Cancer Walk and was the team that raised the most money - $6550 for the fight against cancer. Because one of the boys lost a sister and many of the other boys' families have been personally affected by cancer, this cause is particularly important to our Hawks family. The boys wrote who they were walking for on the back of their shirts. "
