"Some mothers in our area realized we tended to spend more time with those moms who have the same gender child in our kids' grade (boys moms with boys mom, girls moms with other girls moms). We got to where we were teasing one another about which group was more fun: boy moms or girl moms? Finally, we decided we would call a truce and all get together. "On January 21, 2013, my father passed away suddenly from complications from lung cancer. I had planned to run the Rock n Roll New Orleans Half Marathon on February 24, 2013. The race benefits the American Cancer Society and I decided to run In Memory of my Dad. Three of my best childhood friends, who knew my dad well, decided to run the race with me so I had the shirts made up for all of us to wear. It was fantastic!
