"Our family walked in the Columbus,OH Race for the Cure this year in honor of our sister, Louie Parrott Parker. She lost her battle against Inflammatory Breast Cancer 5 years ago and we all still love and miss her. She was a disc jockey in the 70's and Louie, Louie was her theme song. "Our first annual Pate Family Reunion in Lancaster, SC. Our family's excitement didn't let the rain dampen our spirits. We gathered under canopies and enjoyed good food, karaoke, old stories, laughter, and fellowship! The rain cooperated and held off long enough for us to release 20 white balloons in memory of our family members in Heaven....was absolutely awesome! The kids created posters to let Custom Ink know how much we appreciated their contribution to making our reunion absolutely PERFECT!"
"This is the 4th year we've held the Lisa McCorkle Softball Benefit. It started out with raising some funds to help Lisa McCorkle as she traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center to receive treatments. Through the 4 years God has blessed us with this event and we've continued this benefit in Lisa's name to be a blessing to someone in our community that is battling with cancer or other medical needs. Though Lisa is no longer here with us, we know that she would be filled with joy knowing that this benefit has continued to bless people. We always have a great crowd show up in memory of Lisa and people that want to reach out and help with this benefit. Thanks to everyone that was part of it. "Our daughter Haunnah who had Cerebral Palsy passed away 3/6/13. She was to participate in the Cincinnati Flying Pig "Pigabilities" 1 mile walk. This walk is geared towards individuals who disabled or mentally challenged. It gives them the ability to be part of The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon weekend. Our family and friends decided to walk the Pigabilities for Haunnah in memory of Haunnah. It was amazing the support we had. HALF FOR HAUNNAH!!!"
"Team Bryson & Wyatt is made up of family and friends of Lavane & Lancer Vowell and Carrie & terry Rawlins. We both lost our premature infant sons, Wyatt and Bryson. Our Team walked in the 2013 March of Dimes March for Babies Walk to honor our precious boys and raise money to help other babies. Funds raised will help to save lives so that other parents would not have to experience the loss of a child. The shirt design on the back was done in "subway" art style depicting words or phrases that applied to both babies, Wyatt & Bryson, their names, nicknames, birthdays, birth weights, etc. The colors stood out that day. We were one of the largest teams to walk and definately the brightest colored! We looked GREAT! We received a ton of compliments for others. CustomInk was a dream to work with. They made the ordering process so easy. Each team member that ordered got to use the link to place their sizes and quanities, then I finalized the order. It was one the easiest things I have ever ordered (we had over 60 shirts from children sizes to adults). The representatives from CustomInk that I worked with over the phone and email were all very efficient and friendly. That is the kind of customer service that is hard to find these day. ""At age 80, my Mom (I share her with 5 siblings) was voted the Stormy Kromer Living Legend for 2013 after my oldest brother wrote an essay to nominate her. We had intended to nominate Dad but he passed on before we could do that. So Mom, his bride of 60 years, became the subject of the nomination in his honor. "Team Ray was formed in 2010 in honor of my husband, Ray, who lost his life to pancreatic cancer. Team Ray has participated in the American Cancer Society's Fox Valley Walk and Roll every year since 2010. The Walk and Roll was held on May 11, 2013, and that is where the picture was taken.
