"45 students from Greensburg Salem High School attended "You've Got a Friend Day" for special needs students . This is a yearly event where high school students are paired with special needs students at a local park known as Twin Lakes in Westmoreland County, Pa. This year 350 local high school students were paired with over 700 special needs students. The HS students are responsible to take their "buddies" to a petting zoo, to a circus, on hay rides, paddle boats and fishing and just making sure they have a very special day.."
"At Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua NY this summer, 20+ moms and 20+ daughters got together to play the '1st Annual Mother-Daughter Softball Game' to help raise money for breast cancer research. Despite the rainy weather, moms and daughters had a great time playing together and raising $700 towards breast cancer research. "Lisa's Breast Friends, Susan G Komen Kansas City Walk, 2012. Supporting Lisa Getty. Lisa is 45 yrs old and was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Since then, she has underwent a double mastetctomy, numerous rounds of chemo, radiation and now awaiting the implants. She is our mentor and a true fighter. I started designing the shirts months in advance and Custom Ink was there with me all of the way. I changed my mind atleast once a day and they would email me another draft everytime until finally I made up my mind what I wanted. They never seemed to be bothered and was more than happy to complete the project"
