We didn't want to take it too seriously (as evidenced by the golden, blow-up boom box), so we thought the hot pink shirts and the likeness of Vanilla Ice would help us indicate that. "Students at Washington Elementary school wanted to support a staff member that is walking in the Susan G. Komen Walk in honor of her mother. Thus, "Change for Pink" week was born! Students participated in collecting change and making donations. However, the highlight of this week was the Read for a Cure "Read-a-thon" that raised over $800. Students were also tickled pink to wear their new Read for the Cure T-shirts on that Friday! The decision to order the t-shirts was made at the last minute, but Custom Ink got the shirts to us in less than a week, and at a price we could afford! The theme of our women's camp this year was " Fingerprints Of God". I found a heart with fingerprints inside of it.
