"This picture was taken in San Diego Nov. 11,2007 after 9 of us walked over 60 miles in 3 days along with 4600 other women and men in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure 3-day walk. Our team raised over $23,000 to walk which contributed to the 12.3 million raised in this walk for the cure of breast cancer. We are from Kansas City, Iowa, and Tuscon and got alot of wonderful comments on our shirts. CustomInk did a wonderful job of designing our shirts with the pink ribbons and the Jayhawks."
"I organized a team this year for the 2007 ALS Walk in San Diego. My friend Dan next to me in the wheelchair was just diagnosed with ALS in Sept 06, so this was our 1st of many years that we will have a walk team in his honor. "My friend Dan was diagnosed with ALS in Sept 06 so this was our 1st year that I organized a team in his honor. We had a great turnout and over 50 team members showed up that day. To date, our team has raised over $5000 for ALS. It was a beautiful day down at the beach and it was a terrific experience. The walk was the morning before all the terrible San Diego Wildfires started, so it was nice to have everyone together in such a positive enviornment when everyone's spirits were high.
