Students in Dubois Youth Activities, Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP red shirts) make and sell popcorn, cotton candy, smoothies, and other concessions each Friday during the summer at the local rodeo. These middle school youth learn small business skills, how to use a cash register, how to market their products, and how to provide quality customer service. The goal of the program is to provide youth with educational and occupational learning experiences to help prepare them for the 21st century workforce. Profits from sales are split between the students and the Young Entrepreneurs Program, making it partially self-sustaining. We raised some money for my school's theater department and we helped middle schoolers get comfortable with high school theater. In the end the camp was a great success and our matching tshirts were perfect for the performance we put on for the parents." "Support and Training Resources for Independance and Vocational Education (STRIVE) is a non-profit, non-credit, college- based support program which provides opportunities for young adults with learning disabilities to transition from school to post secondary training, employment, college and successful community living. This photo was taken at the NVCC Annandale Campus where the STRIVE classes are held. The baseball shirts from Customlink are a big hit with the Monday night class. A total of 30 shirts were ordered by STRIVE participants and we look forward to designing new shirts this fall."
