"The event was a walkathon held at Al Lopez park in Tampa to raise funds for the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association. Spasmodic Dysphonia is a neurological disorder which causes spasms in the vocal cords making speech difficult. Our Tampa S.D. Support group organized a walk to raise funds for the NSDA and ordered t-shirts from CustomInk to wear while we walked. "My national service sorority Gamma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Iota, does a 24 hour Walkathon every year for a new organization with Tau Kappa Epsilon. This year we decided to walk to for St Jude Children's Research Hospital. It was on March 26 2013. "We participated in the CCFA sponsored walkathon in Orange County (on the UCI campus), CA to fundraise for Crohn's Disease. Our daughter, Michelle, age 19, has suffered from Crohn's for 12 years now and we wanted to support the the CCFA in their quest to raise funds for research and education.
