Team Townes Marches for Babies in HTX!

"Our son, Townes, was born at 29 weeks via emergency c-section (cause unknown) on January 22, 2014 weighing a little over 2lbs. He has since endured an incredible medical journey and is truly a miracle. He had pulmonary failure and a 2/3 IVH (brain bleed) after birth and spent more than 100 days in the NICU before finally coming home. He was diagnosed with hydrocephalus 4 weeks after birth as a result of the brain bleeds, and has weathered the storm of more than 4 brain surgeries, 1 subglottic cyst removal from his airway, countless tests and doctors visits and still remains the sweetest little boy. After his birth, my husband and I decided to blog about our journey here to share updates on Townes and to find a way to heal from the trauma our little family has been through. This blog led us to rally alongside our friends and family as ‘Team Townes.' Since our son is named after Townes Van Zandt, one of his lyrics has become our motto, "...to live is to fly." In honor of our journey this past year, we decided to do the March for Babies Walk in Houston, TX for March of Dimes with Team Townes this past Sunday. We actually already have a fundraising site here: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/fxTwa/ab/14axX5 and while we have met 111% of our goal, we would LOVE to surpass our goal and give that much more money to March of Dimes!
