Wonderful time at Winterskol

"Family and friends gathered together for the second annual Aspen Woods Winterskol. In 1956, President Dwight D. Eisenhower created the Sister Cities International organization to promote democracy through ‘citizen diplomacy.’ Aspen, Colorado’s sister cities are primarily small towns nestled high up in mountains throughout the world and include Can franc, Spain, Chamonix, France, Davos, Switzerland, and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Aspen’s annual Winterskol festival began in 1951 to stave off the post holiday blues, Winterskol embraces the Nordic lifestyle of other European resort towns. Today Winterskol has evolved into a four-day celebration in which Aspenites and their visitors participate in on-mountain activities and competitions, enjoy good food and live music all over town, witness a broomball tournament, and partake in winter hikes and a winter festival along the way." - Winterskol festivities (Feb 15, 2016)
