The Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving is now designated as known as \u201cGiving Tuesday.\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Started in 2012 by the 92nd<\/sup> St Y and the United Nations Foundation in response to how the holiday season has become increasingly commercial, #GivingTuesday (as it\u2019s referred to by the Twitterati) is a growing movement in support of a worldwide day dedicated to giving to others.<\/p>\n

With early reports from retailers projecting record revenues on both Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2016, it will be interesting to see if the public also steps up to open their pocketbooks and wallets to show their philanthropy on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016.<\/p>\n

Since we were created and launched by CustomInk<\/strong><\/a> in the summer of 2013 — at Booster.com<\/a><\/strong>\u2014we dedicate every day<\/strong> to giving.<\/p>\n

While we weren\u2019t the first \u201ccrowdfunding for good\u201d website — in our short history, thousands of citizens have supported campaigns, raising millions of dollars for people and causes they care about.<\/p>\n

In that time, inspiring campaign Organizers (individuals, groups and nonprofits<\/a>) have launched online fundraisers on Booster.com that go beyond \u201cdonation-only \u201c(yet laudable) crowdfunding sites like GoFundMe, YouCaring, Fundly and FundRazr.<\/p>\n

In addition to raising money, \u201cBoosters\u201d (aka campaigns that run on Booster.com), also<\/span> raise awareness and spirits<\/strong> <\/em>through t-shirt fundraisers<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Designed by organizers<\/a>, cause-branded T-shirts and other clothes for causes are showcased on dedicated t-shirt fundraiser campaign pages.<\/p>\n

CustomInk\u2019s award-winning online Design Lab interface<\/a> makes designing an attractive and compelling shirt fun and easy!<\/p>\n

Supporters show their generosity by buying shirts and making cash donations, which credited to a campaign that usually lasts under 1 month. At the end of the campaign, shirts are shipped to supporters (who wear them proudly), and after-cost proceeds are sent directly to a designated beneficiary.<\/p>\n

In communities across North America and around the globe\u2014families, friends, neighbors, students, colleagues and others are starting, and\/or contributing to Booster campaigns\u2026and encouraging others to do so.<\/p>\n

With more and more people launching (and re-launching campaigns), supported by a widening donor base — Booster has truly \u201ccaught on\u201d as a fun and effective way to fundraise and given people around the world a new way to give.<\/p>\n

In under three years, newspapers, TV, radio and online media have done more than 700 stories on Booster<\/a> campaigns.<\/p>\n

Channeling the holiday spirit, by modeling Jesus\u2019s words \u201cit is more blessed to give than to receive.\u201d (or the charitable tenants of Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and the world\u2019s other great religions), now\u2019s a good time to give.<\/p>\n
