In honor of International Women\u2019s Day on March 8th, we\u2019re celebrating woman-run businesses, organizations, and fundraisers. The background:<\/b> President and co-founder Tatiyana started Nova Electric in 2014 with her husband, Neil. Their team consists of more than 60 people and they provide power and disaster recovery services to the greater Manhattan area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The background:<\/b> Natasha started her business four years ago in her college apartment, and now has a staff and successful Instagram where she offers resources to her followers and advertises her services as an Instagram educator, speaker, podcaster, mentor, and coach.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fundraiser:<\/b> SeekHer Foundation<\/span><\/a>, <\/b>a non-profit organization that advocates for stronger mental health initiatives for women and provides scholarships for emerging community leaders working toward these goals<\/span><\/p>\n

The background:<\/strong> Becca, a creative entrepreneur and lifestyle coach ran a “Women can. Women will.” fundraiser with Custom Ink that helped support the SeekHer Foundation. <\/span>The funds were raised to help fight the stigma around women and mental health, along with supporting social initiatives that help women thrive in their work, life, and well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n

The business: <\/b>All in Fitness, LLC<\/span><\/a>, a personal training, nutrition, and wellness studio<\/span><\/p>\n

The background: <\/b>Launched in May 2020 after Caity was laid off from her job at a local gym, All in Fitness managed to keep its doors open as many other gyms closed. Now they have a full schedule and they\u2019re still going strong.<\/span><\/p>\n

The design:<\/b> A nested set of three triangles designed by Caity to represent the letter A in All in Fitness as well as the meaning of the delta symbol change, self-actualization, and a pyramid that one builds to reach the pinnacle as well as the three services her business offers: personal training, nutrition, and life wellness coaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

The business: <\/b>OrthoPelvic Physical Therapy<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The background: <\/b>\u00a0Kelly became a physical therapist after years of battling her own unsolved health issues. Her specialty is pelvic health and her mission is to identify and treat undiagnosed and personal health challenges and increase access to education about these issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

The woman: <\/b>Meaghan McGoldrick<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization: <\/b>Cancer Can\u2019t Kill Love<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The background:<\/b> Meaghan was just 17 when her father died from lung cancer. When her mother passed from leukemia just five years later, Meaghan\u2019s friends pulled together to stage a benefit concert to raise money for expenses and a memorial donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The success of that first event inspired Meaghan to pick up the mantle and turn it into a yearly event. Over the years, the organization grew. Since beginning in 2013, they have raised $135,000 through in-person events and custom gear fundraisers with Custom Ink for multiple organizations including Stand Up to Cancer, the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the Dear Jack Foundation, and the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fundraiser: <\/b>EarthDay.org\u2019s <\/span>The Canopy Project<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The background:<\/b> Vivien has long dedicated her <\/span>popular Instagram account<\/span><\/a> to share her love of plants with others. She took Earth Day as an opportunity to use her platform to help EarthDay.org\u2019s The Canopy Project. They plant new trees to combat environmental degradation and climate change. Not only do trees act as carbon sinks, but they also provide invaluable habitats for wildlife and important ecological services and economic development to nearby communities. Her fundraiser raised enough money to plant more than 200 trees.<\/span><\/p>\n
