A couple months ago, I wrote about the wonders of polyester t-shirts<\/a> in order to give you loyal blog readers a better sense of the fabric and why we love it.\u00a0 Well I\u2019m back to drop some more knowledge on you.\u00a0 And even though this one goes out to the ladies, as this fabric is used in primarily for women\u2019s styles, you guys are always welcome.\u00a0 Let\u2019s explore the world of\u2026.Baby Rib Knit.<\/p>\n

First, it\u2019s important to know about the other, more common, knit that is used to make many basic t-shirt styles \u2013 the \u201cjersey\u201d knit.\u00a0 Jersey knit has a very flat surface (a result of how it\u2019s knitted) making it ideal for screen printing and giving it just a little stretch.\u00a0 Some examples of jersey knit would be the American Apparel Jersey T<\/a> or the Anvil Ladies Jersey T.<\/a><\/p>\n

A \u201crib\u201d knit (or \u201cbaby rib\u201d), on the other hand, has a LOT of stretch which makes it a popular fabric used in many ladies and girly styles.\u00a0 It is called rib knit because of its ribbed texture \u2013 it looks like there is a gap between each rib row \u2013 that can be seen easily.
