{"id":4690,"date":"2011-05-20T17:09:16","date_gmt":"2011-05-20T17:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.customink.com\/blog\/?p=4690"},"modified":"2011-05-20T17:09:16","modified_gmt":"2011-05-20T17:09:16","slug":"bike-to-work-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.customink.com\/blog\/bike-to-work-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Bike to Work Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.customink.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/BiketoWork.jpg\" alt=\"Bike to Work Day\" width=\"660\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a title=\"DC Bicyclist Association\" href=\"http:\/\/www.waba.org\/about\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Area Bicyclist Association<\/a> and <a title=\"Commuter Connections\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mwcog.org\/commuter2\/commuter\/bicycling\/biketoworkday.html\" target=\"_blank\">Commuter Connections<\/a> cordially invited those in the area to commute to work via bicycle on May 20th. Actually, it&#8217;s a standing invitation and Inkers often accept and bike to work rather than put another car on the road. However, May 20th is the <em>official <\/em>Bike to Work Day in the area and thousands of area commuters hit the pavement on two wheels instead of four. According to organizers, there were 9,000 bicycles on Washington-area roads last year! (I&#8217;ll let you know the total for this year, but I counted 4 on my way in!)<\/p>\n<p>CustomInk has a room deemed the Bike Rack (clever!) where Inkers can store their bicycles and other gear \u2013 plus, it\u2019s complete with air freshener, cleaning wipes and Gatorade! And this isn&#8217;t just for Bike to Work day; it&#8217;s every day. Today, though, we had 5 Inkers bike to work.
