About this campaign

Since the Wisconsin chapter was founded in 1984, over 6,500 families statewide can attest to the power of a wish. Wishes provide a special type of medicine. They divert a child's thoughts from medical treatments and hospital visits to dreams of fun, possibilities and hope. Wishes are granted to children between the ages of 2½ and 18 who medically qualify.

Our precious little grandson Jayden passed away on July 16th, 2015 at the young age of 6, he was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). The defect Jayden was born with is called Hypo plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), he underwent 3 open heart surgeries in his short lifetime, the first one being at just 4 days of age. Several months after his 3rd surgery they realized he was in heart failure, he was then listed for a heart transplant. After 3 1/2 long months we got the call from my daughter that they had found a match for him. He received his heart transplant on July 16th 2013. On January 19th 2015 he suffered a heart attack. His new heart was failing fast so he was then re-listed for a 2nd heart transplant. He remained hospitalized waiting for his new angel heart but his health continued to deteriorate. (In May of 2015 he was placed with 2 Berlin Hearts (mechanical hearts)). Sadly Jayden never recovered and lost his courageous battle with CHD exactly 2 years to the day he received his angel heart, July 16th 2015.
