HELP RAISE AWARENESS FOR MISSING PERSONS!

Approximately 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day, not including those Americans who go missing while in other countries., those who have disappeared and were never reported missing or the homeless and their children!

There are as many as 90,000 active missing persons cases in the U.S. at any given time.

According to the FBI's National Crime Information Center, as of the end of 2017, there were 88,089 active missing person records!

Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. Our mission is to raise awareness for the Missing by bringing them a voice and supporting the families who are affected by working together to advocate for the Missing. It will also work to provide educational and informational activities to increase public awareness and to increase public knowledge of prevention measures.

Wisconsin Missing Persons Advocacy was officially established in August of 2017. The founder, Marsha Loritz, began her mission to raise awareness for the missing in January 2015, after her own mother, Victoria Prokopovitz who had been missing since April 25, 2013, when she wrote a letter asking to have a Missing Persons Awareness Day declared in the state of Wisconsin. The Governor has declared April as Missing Persons Awareness Month since 2015. Marsha has worked with Green Bay Area Crime Stoppers and The Brown County Sheriff’s Department to hold awareness events and has worked with a Lamar Advertising to hold a Billboard campaign to raise awareness during the entire month of April in and around NE Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Area.

4 of our board members have personal experience with having a missing loved one (short term missing and long term missing) and understand the emotional trauma that having a missing loved one has.



Marsha has again petitioned the Governor of Wisconsin asking him to recognize a statewide Missing Persons Awareness month. With a statewide Missing Persons Awareness Month, families with missing loved ones will have the platform to share their stories, giving their missing loved ones a voice while receiving public support. This will also bring attention to cases that may have not had media coverage or resources previously or otherwise and bring families closer to the answers that they have been searching for.

We ask that you support this campaign, whether you live in Wisconsin or not. We need to raise awareness for ALL of The Missing everywhere and we would be honored if you would join us and support this cause and proudly wear your shirt especially in April for all of those that are missing and who do not have a voice!
