About this campaign

Shirt design by PHS Student Alyssa Moreno '26.

Students in video are PHS Class of '24, '23 & '22.

The funds raised will go to the Black History Committee students to help Princeton Public Schools celebrate Black History 365 days of the year. This year the committee will be hosting an all-school assembly at Princeton High School and Princeton Middle School. The Black History Committee partners with BEACON staff members.

BEACON Mission: To develop pathways for Black student achievement through shared agency and collaborative efforts of parents, teachers, and stakeholders of the Princeton Public Schools community. Participation in academic extracurricular activities Participation in community-based servant leadership programs Participation in social and cultural programs designed to build strong intergenerational networks while sustaining rich historical contexts for learning Celebration of success within the community through annual recognition ceremonies Although our original mission and goals have been maintained, a critically important objective of this group is in direct alignment with district equity goals that support the recruitment and retention of faculty of color, especially those who identify as Black/African American, within the Princeton Public Schools.

Our students need to know the history of our people! We have our relatives and stories that share OUR history in detail. Groups as this continue to lift the history and educate the greater community!
