Amazon Conservation T-Shirt Fundraiser

During a recent trip to Peru, I was inspired by what I saw around me: the local people, their culture, and most of all the depth of the natural world surrounding it all. I came to realize the incredible importance of humbling ourselves to just how tied the natural world humanity's fate is. Unsustainable practices in the Amazon (legal and illegal) cause deforestation, impact the regions biological diversity, harm and displace residents (many of whom are indigenous), and contribute to climate change. The design pictured shows a person standing in the light of the sun, gazing up at the hands of Pacha Mama, or Mother Earth. Above her hands hover three coca leaves that symbolize the sky, the surface world, and the earth. Behind her stand the strong peaks of the Apus, the mountains that have stood watch over this land for millions of years. And below her, the flowing river of the Amazon.
