About this campaign

The rule against Beards at BYU has been overlooked and should be revisited. We want to show just how many supporters there are. #beardedbyu

You may be aware that there has been a small movement of students that are encouraging the revisitation and discussion of BYU's (and other CES schools) policy against beards. The movement has garnered media attention on The Salt Lake Tribune, The Huffington Post, Jezebel, and The New York Times to name a few. In response to this attention the organization of schools seems to have responded with a heavier hand and no signs of official discussion or statements. We want to see students alumni and beard supporters worldwide supporting the movement with T-shirts and the hashtag #beardedbyu

Most of the honor code guidelines are centered around what develops and maintains christ-like character. The beard ban is not. We have created a culture that looks down upon a person's choice in style. This issue must be revisited.

I had a beard while at BYU. I think the beard rule is WAY outdated, and quite frankly puts focus on something that does not matter.
