About this campaign

April is Cesarean Awareness Month (CAM). Cesarean Awareness Month was created by ICAN to bring awareness to all topics surrounding cesareans. By purchasing a t-shirt from this campaign, you are helping to continue the mission of ICAN.

ICAN is the International Cesarean Awareness Network, a non profit whose mission is to improve maternal-child health by reducing preventable cesareans through education, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). We have been on our mission since the early 80's. We are a 100% volunteer led and operated organization with over 100 chapters worldwide.

I had an unplanned C-section for the birth of my son, and there ended up being complications which made it a traumatic experience and recovery. My husband and I felt like no one really helped prepare or educate us well about the healing process.

Sarah was my doula for my last pregnancy. ICAN and her knowledge helped me make informed decisions that ultimately helped me be at peace with my birth results. She is an incredible person and I know she will continue helping other mommas!

I'm a local chapter leader and believe that ICAN continues to bring awareness to the high cesarean rate. This awareness drives change for the better.

I found ICAN after a very frustrating cesarean. I was feeling so defeated and depressed, but this group lifted me up and gave me hope. They suggested a new doctor for my second pregnancy. While I was in labor I even got support and I had a VBAC!

I am a c-section mom x3 and there's so much misconception out there surrounding c-sections. I want to help set the record straight!

Because if we are quiet more women are forced into a birth they thought was the only option for them!
