Support Youth, Celebrate Art, and Make a Difference This May! May is National Foster Care Month, and Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine and The Kinship Program (AFFM) is proud to uplift the voices of youth across the state through creativity and purpose. We've invited young artists from Maine’s foster, adoptive, and kinship communities to submit original artwork — and now, their designs will shine on limited-edition T-shirts!

We thank all of the amazing participants who submitted their artwork — your creativity and heart inspire us all. Congratulations to Zoey, whose design was selected as the winning entry!

All proceeds from T-shirt sales will go directly to AFFM’s Back-to-School Program, which provides essential school supplies, backpacks, and support to children in care as they prepare for a new school year. By purchasing a shirt, you're not just wearing a work of art — you're standing behind a young artist and helping a child start the school year with confidence.

Founded in 1997, Adoptive and Foster Families of Maine (AFFM) was created to ensure that no foster, adoptive, or kinship family in Maine ever feels alone. What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into a statewide nonprofit organization supporting thousands of families caring for Maine's most vulnerable children. Whether a child is placed in care for a week, a year, or a lifetime, AFFM stands beside the families who open their hearts and homes—offering compassion, resources, and unwavering advocacy every step of the way.
