About this campaign

Hero was the dog ambassador of pet charity, Thankful Paws. He recently lost his battle with Cushing's disease - a horrible disease that attacks a dog's adrenal system. Join us to raise money for Cushing's Disease Research for the country's leader in treatment and research, University of Washington Veterinary School.

On October 26, 2019 we will gather in Maryland for our first annual walk-a-thon in Hero's memory. Please purchase a t-shirt and wear it to our walk-a-thon. All money raised will be sent to the University of Washington Veterinary School to help them continue their amazing work on discovering the best treatments and ultimately a cure. Thankful Paws will also be collecting unopened pet food at the walk-a-thon for distribution to our elderly and homeless clients. You can bring new or gently used pet beds, coats, toys too! Pet food must be new and unopened. Thank you.

I think Thankful Paws is a great charity and I am sad to hear what happened to Hero. I lost a dog to liver cancer but origjnally they thought he had Cushing's Disease. I want to walk in his honour too as I loved him with all my heart.
