About this campaign
Dear friends,
Our world is changing at an unprecedented pace. Where we once complained about the weather, we now are focused on saving lives. Each one of us must do our part to remain safe and healthy. However, how do we still show our compassion for our neighbors throughout our community as we are all dealing with such massive changes that will negatively impact health and well-being?
As a nonprofit who cares about and provides for our community, we have taken steps to join in the fight to help keep everyone healthy. Through free services like Facebook live healthy lunch education programs and free telehealth to Seniors with Medicare, we are committed to continuing health promotion when our most vulnerable community members need it.
We move into a critical time. Can we sustain our mission of providing a community of care where everyone can achieve a healthy and active life during the COVID 19 pandemic and once this is all over?
We turn to you. You are the lifeblood of our organization. Your consideration of support through donations will help us through this crisis.
We are taking steps to financially conserve while keeping some basic communications going during this time. However, the expense to keep the lights and heat on as well as ramping back up operations and programming will be costly.
Our Executive Director, Melanie Brennan, founded ExercisAbilities, a 501c3 nonprofit, 9 years ago because she knew our community needed to offer more support to people living with disabilities and chronic health conditions. About EA
ExercisAbilities brings improved health and vitality to the Rochester Minnesota Community by serving those who are often left behind in traditional health improvement strategies. Those with physical and intellectual disabilities as well as individuals with medical challenges and overall low income status do not have a safe place to get the rehabilitation and health promotion assistance outside of the costly medical system.
ExercisAbilities is the first of it’s kind, and it is right here in Rochester! As a local Nonprofit, EA is always a great place to share your financial gifts. The donations that we receive support our many programs to allow all people to access things like medically focused group exercise classes, Diabetes Prevention Health Promotion Education Classes, Stress Management for Chronic Pain Class, adaptive recreation activities such as wheelchair basketball, children’s Autism Fitness and Family Well-being Classes, and more!
With generous gifts, we can provide reduced fee and free participation for those who need it. The T shirts in this EA Strong Campaign will add to our GIVEMN at Home Campaign and proivde $10.00 per shirt toward our $15,000 goal. Your money will go directly to free and reduced fee programs and positiviely impact the health of more than 400 residents living in SE MN.
