About this campaign

The Baton Rouge Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-BRP) is dedicated to engineering sustainable solutions for communities in need with projects that improve health and vitality.  By supporting our campaign, you will help us spread potable water and sanitation throughout The Gambia.

EWB-BRP has recently commissioned our first project, a Solar Water System in the village of Sam M'Bollet.  The villagers of Sam M'Bollet are enjoying abundant clean water thanks to the efforts and generosity of our volunteers, partners and supporters.

The next step for Sam M'Bollet is a sanitary latrine system.  EWB-BRP plans to initiate a pilot compost latrine program for the village in 2016.

Additionally, we have visited several other Gambian communities in need and plan to initiate projects in as many villages as funding enables.  Among these communities are the villages of Jinack Island.  Their needs are most desperate, with water contamination and salinity plaguing the health of the villagers.
