Hands On Bay Area T-Shirt Fundraiser

WHAT WE'RE DOING THIS YEAR:
Today's political climate has created a call to action for people to give of themselves through their time, talent and resources to help those in need. While the Bay Area has been a leader in technology and in progressive ideals, there is also growing inequality in our communities. This year we're creating volunteer projects to get more people involved in local nonprofits and broaden the awareness of the underserved communities of Silicon Valley.

HOW WE'RE DOING THIS-
Teamworks:
A series of service projects addressing the housing affordability crisis in Silicon Valley. We'll be connecting volunteers with various non-profits where they can learn what's being done to help those affected by the housing crisis and income inequality. Large scale service project:
A one-time service event where we'll recruit 50+ volunteers. We are partnered with Downtown Streets Team of San Jose to beautify a needed area of San Jose on September 30. Downtown Streets Team employs a unique model empowering low-income and homeless men and women with resources they need to rebuild their lives. Team Up to Clean Up! Sign up today on Eventbrite.
Learning how to be the change:
We'll be attending workshops that showcase the various aspects of nonprofit work, such as fundraising and strategic development, so that we can become a part of these causes in a bigger way.

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP-
As part of our fellowship, we've been tasked with raising $5,250 that will support the costs of our events and projects. The remainder of the money raised will go directly to Hands on Bay Area.
How Hands on Bay Area is making a difference:
Hands On Bay Area (HOBA) offers nonprofits a valuable resource that these organizations often cannot afford: volunteers who can support their programming free-of-charge. This is done at the individual level, through their projects calendar and on a larger scale through corporate volunteer events. HOBA organizes and facilitates learning and Leadership programs, such as Hands on Leadership and Hands on Tomorrow, for people who want to engage with community service work on a deeper level.
