In memory of Connie S. Crawford

My sister Connie Crawford went in a pancreatitis flare up on October 23, 2014.  Her pain was severe and she went to the hospital for treatment.  With chronic pancreatitis your pancreatic enzymes no longer elevate.  The hospital did labs and a CT scan which were normal.  They gave her pain meds and fluids and sent her home.  Her pain continued and she got worse.  She went back to the hospital 3 days later and was in multi-organ failure.  All systems shut down-kidneys, liver, respiratory and then circulatory.  We must raise awareness.  Most ER physicians do not know that pancreatic enzymes do not rise in chronic pancreatitis patients.  No one should die from this disease.  Thank you for helping me raise money for the National Pancreas Foundation.
