About this campaign
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRCDVp2NOf8
30% of College freshmen drop out and 75% of college graduates NEVER USE their degree according to the Washington Post. On top of that, the average student comes out of college with $40,000 of CRIPPLING college debt.
Many young people come home with crushed dreams. Many others think they need to go to chase their dreams in bigger cities.
I’m one that believes that young people can live their dreams wherever they are.
That is why we are creating a new way forward.
WHO ARE WE?
We are The INDUSTRY; a Brand New non-profit organization that strives to see full community involvement and engagement in launching young adults into professional roles throughout the Blue Water area.
We created the “Bridge Semester.” Why throw yourself into the sea and HOPE you end up on shore; take the BRIDGE and ensure your success.
Students who go through a program like ours are 80% more likely to USE the degree that they receive if they go back to college. It’s a break from traditional education in order to assess and connect the PRESENT to the FUTURE, or BRIDGE the space between high school and SUCCESS.
Our goal is to inspire this community by empowering young people by giving them the confidence and the tools to start successful careers and establish deep roots in Port Huron.
IMAGINE a city flourishing with young businesses, nonprofits, and families!
WHAT DO WE DO?
To the INDUSTRY, it’s all about P.L.O.T. Personal Mentor/Coach Local Networking On Campus Housing Timeless Education
Personal Mentor/Coach Most successful young people say they have a mentor/coach, giving inspiration and ideas. We will guide students through S.M.A.R.T goals to get REAL results! (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Based).
Local Networking Students will network in their community through volunteerism, apprenticeships, and research. When students are locally networked, they are more likely to stay and invest in their own communities.
On Campus Housing It's important to be surrounded by like-minded young people who are striving for success. Being away from home helps students grow and mature. We DO offer our programs without housing, too.
Timeless Education
Soft skills like a strong work ethic, teamwork,
emotional intelligence, proficient writing, and tenacity
are harder to come by in an employee these days.
With
our help students will learn not only how to build a
successful career, but also how to build a successful
life.
Along with P.L.O.T. a student will EXPLORE through self-guided EXPERIENCES.
+360 Degree Personal Assessment
+Help define personal SUCCESS

+Volunteer Projects and Humanitarian Causes

+Internships/Apprenticeships at local businesses
WHAT DO WE WANT TO SEE?
Our goal is to INSPIRE this COMMUNITY by EMPOWERING YOUNG ADULTS! There are far too few young business owners, far too little nonprofits run by young people, and not enough young influence in this community.
Port Huron will become a place where young people desire to be.
WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?
Taking on this project is a HUGE, expensive endeavor. I am looking to raise money in order to help The INDUSTRY see the light of day. Not only do we need the seed money to get this project off the ground, but we need to be able to take care of our family's living expenses.
The Sabo family is not oblivious to the oppression that debt can have on a family. We started with 4x more than the national average of student college debt. We understand what students are going through. Our situation has given us great passion to help young people. We have been waiting to put our dreams of The INDUSTRY together UNTIL NOW!
If we can raise the money we will have enough to keep my family living for 5 months while this project continues to SOAR!
TheINDUSTRY will bring energy, excitement, and empowerment to this entire community. After a successful INDUSTRY is established in Port Huron, we hope to start another in a community similar to Port Huron.
If you like what you hear and believe in what we’re trying to accomplish, please share :)
RISKS
Funding is always a risk when giving money to nonprofits. This is a very NEW campaign in education, but isn’t the FIRST. This truly is the cutting edge of higher education and has really caught on and exploded in many areas of America.
TO ENSURE SUCCESS!
We developed strong ties to the communities professional institutions; business, high schools, trades, nonprofits and more. We have a great tie to young people who have all expressed desire to come to a program like this.
We are forming partnerships with John Maxwell Leadership Coaches and Consultants and developing partnerships with local colleges. Our strategy is strong and with the help of very wise counsel we are moving forward every day toward the success of our community through The INDUSTRY.
OUR TEAM
