Layups 4 Life

Layups 4 Life was created by Daniel Exter a former cancer patient treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.) in the Summer of 2013. He received a treatment plan consisting of full body radiation, chemotherapy and a T-Cell depleted Stem Cell transplant, in which his only brother, Jason, was be a perfect match and Dan's donor. Layups 4 Life main fundraising event- a 3-on-3 basketball tournament was created to help raise money for MSKCC's mission in continuing to raise funds for research and clinical trials. The procedure that Dan had at Memorial Sloan Kettering, was at one point a result of a successful clinical trial and inevitably it saved his life.

When creating this non-profit organization, it was important to Dan to not only raise money for cancer research but to also fund research advancements at the hospital where he was treated. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the leader in cancer research and with this event we are looking to join their efforts and help in the fight against cancer, "One layup at a time".

To date we have raised over $50,00 which has supported various departments and doctor's research studies throughout Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
