About this campaign

On Monday, August 14, 2017, I took Jaysen to the emergency room after complaining of very painful headaches. During a CT Scan, a mass was found in his cerebellum and he was immediately transported to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago. Within 12 hours of his arrival, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that needed to be removed right away. The next morning, an incredibly talented team of neurosurgeons performed a 6+ hour long brain surgery that resulted in successfully removing the tumor. Unfortunately, during the surgery, the brain tumor was found to be malignant. After further testing, on Wednesday, August 23rd he was officially diagnosed with Medulloblastoma, a form of pediatric brain cancer. The good news is that Jaysen is in great hands. Not only does he have an incredible group of supportive friends and family to help him through his fight, but he has also been blessed with an incredible team of specialists and nurses that have cared for him in such a compassionate way. All that are fortunate enough to have Jaysen in their life know that he is truly an extraordinary child. The charisma, energy, and admirable attitude he exudes towards life, even through this trying time, is enough to lift us all through this. At this time Jaysen's treatment requires weekly chemotherapy and frequent hospital visits. In an effort to completely eliminate his cancer, Jaysen will require further treatments, therapies, and medications over the course of the next 6-7 months. The money raised will be used to meet the needs of ongoing medical expenses, medications, and basic family expenses. Thank you all for ALL your support in advance, let's all be team Jaysen!
