Libby's Emergency Fundraiser

Libby is a 16 year old foster Bulldog in Hoosier Bulldog Rescue. The evening of Thursday December 13th, Libby suddenly vomited, became pale and unresponsive in her foster home. She was rushed to the closest emergency clinic. They placed an IV Catheter, placed her on oxygen and did radiographs. She was diagnosed with Bloat-a condition in which the stomach twists on itself. Our rescue was left with only two options-to euthanize Libby or to put her into emergency surgery. Although Libby is 16 years old, she is happy and healthy and her only complaint is arthritis and not getting her meals in a timely manner. We weren't ready to let her go! The on-call surgical team was called in and surgery happened overnight. Unfortunately, this was not a routine bloat-correction surgery. Libby lost 1/3 of her stomach, her spleen and they surgeon had to resect to her esophagus. We received great news that she was waking in recovery! Her blood pressure was a little low, she's still fighting! Her medical bill will be near $5000. We need help!
