About this campaign

Purchase by August 1st to help out our dear Aaron "Fratkins" Atkins in a number of ways:
--You'll ease the burden of his out-of-pocket medical expenses.
--You'll donate to the branch of UCLA Medical that has provided him with free counseling services.
--Each time you wear the shirt (inspired by Aaron's mantra), you'll remind him that he's got Warrior-level support from friends and family near and far!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this page!

HUGE THANKS TO UCLA SIMMS/MANN FOR SPREADING THE WORD!
Since they heard about the campaign, Aaron has been featured on two L.A. news segments -- and we have once again been completely blown away by the outpouring of support from local viewers.  In 24 hours we received an additional $6K in donations... most of that coming from complete strangers: some who've had their own experiences with cancer, some who want to support the cause, and many who were simply touched by Aaron's strength and compassion.  Truly inspiring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Aaron was diagnosed with Neurotropic Melanoma in January of 2012. Since then he's undergone several surgeries and multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy. He continues to fight the good fight -- and in doing so, inspires us all with his unyielding strength and positivity! If you'd like to hear more of his story, visit his CaringBridge -- but know that his eloquent prose and incredible wisdom will likely move you to tears.

In order to recover from his last operation (an intensive tumor-removal), Aaron had to take leave from work, totaling three months on short-term disability. His OOP costs for this year alone have exceeded $3K and there are likely more uninsured treatments on the horizon.  Before the surgery, Aaron and Marci incurred last-minute travel costs to visit MD Anderson Houston for a second opinion: just another example of the countless expenses the Atkins clan has had to cover over the last three years.

Where your money will go:
--Half of proceeds will go directly to Aaron to put towards his bills.
--Half of proceeds will be donated by Aaron himself to the Simms/Man UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology, which provides free one-on-one and group counseling services for UCLA cancer patients. Aaron has been utilizing this service for the last few years and has found it incredibly helpful and important to his well being during this time. If he had it his way, 100% of donations would go towards this cause, but we convinced him that he should accept a little personal help, as well :).

The campaign closes 8/1, so be sure to submit your order before then! Once you receive your shirt (mid-late August), we encourage you to throw it on and snap a photo... then send it to Aaron and/or post to your social media outlet of choice with the hashtag #livelikeawarrior ...!

Let's spread the word and show Aaron that we continue to love and support him through this ongoing journey!
