About this campaign
Lt. Dan was born the end of September 2015 and he has not been able to walk since birth but has shown signs of improvement. In addition to having a neurological condition (we are unclear as to whether it was congenital or happened during the birthing process) Lt. Dan also has some orthopedic conformation issues. After seeking out advice and further diagnostics from an orthopedic specialist it was recommended that Lt. Dan have xrays rechecked when he is 16 weeks old and to increase his rehabilitation therapy regimen in hopes that his conformation issues may be corrected with therapy. This campaign will go to cover his rehabilitation therapy costs.
Lt Dan was brought into Woof Gang Rescue's care and is being fostered by the founder of Bialy's Wellness Foundation, the organization providing all of Lt. Dan's medical care, supplies and equipment. His foster brother Josh (who is paralyzed) has been amazing at showing Lt. Dan the ropes and teaching Lt. Dan what it's like to live a special needs and happy life. He is currently receiving daily massage and physical therapy in his foster home (foster mom is a canine massage therapist and canine rehabilitation therapist) and he is attending Integrative Pet Care, a veterinary rehabilitation facility in Chicago for hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises.
