Brigette's New Lungs Fundraiser!

Brigette McKern was diagnosed at age four with the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. This incurable disease causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. Twenty-eight years later, Brigette's lungs have irreversible damage. While medications and supplemental oxygen are keeping her lungs going day-to-day, the only long term solution is a double lung transplant. She has been on the transplant list for two years, awaiting a call from her transplant center that suitable donor lungs are available. It is uncertain how much longer she will have to wait, in the meantime she has monthly bills for copays from her doctor visits, hospitalizations and prescriptions. She is not healthy enough to work and Medicare does not cover the entire costs. Brigette also needs financial help for dental work her dentist has deemed necessary pre-transplant. Once Brigette receives her transplant, she'll have months of recovery and additional hospital and medication copays.
Brigette has created this t-shirt design to not only raise funds, but also awareness about Cystic Fibrosis and organ donation.
