Triangle Epilepsy Parents 2nd Annual World Purple Day Fundraiser!

The Triangle Area Parent Epilepsy Support Group is a parent group supported by pediatric neurologists and staff from local area hospitals. Our goal is to connect parents to one another with compassion and empathy when on the journey of raising a child with Epilepsy. Often when a child is diagnosed, parents are thrust into unfamiliar territory. The majority of us are largely unprepared for the road ahead. While our doctors do their best to educate us, there's only so much that can be learned and absorbed in that short time frame of an office appointment. We are often left to learn about much on our own. Our intent is to provide a safe environment for parents to freely discuss what they are going through. We also strive to provide education from reliable and expert sources via our monthly meetings. We have learned from neurologists, dietitians and even grown adults living with epilepsy. We want to provide opportunities for parents and children to connect with one another via family activities and fund raising. Ultimately, we want to share hope. We hope for new treatments, less stigma and most importantly, a cure.
