About this campaign

www.mavunocongo.org
Mavuno is partnering with the village of Bunzi, empowering the local populace to drive sustainable change in their community. After months of just asking questions and listening, we have started undertaking our initial projects to address the most pressing needs. One of these is a complete lack of improved sanitation facilities. The transfer of pathogens via flies from feces to food leads to widespread infectious diarrhea and intestinal worms. But alongside the expertise of the Mavuno team, Bunzi has formulated a plan to build pit latrines and a community sanitation facility, ensuring a healthier future for everyone. Thank you for coming alongside our talented and hard-working friends in Bunzi to make this dream come true! Wear your shirt and encourage your friends to join the "Shirts for Sanitation" campaign.

scbc8JPGMavuno is a social enterprise working inthe Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We are focused on rural development through asset-based and participatory strategies. We believe that local leaders are the most effective agents of change, and we partner with them to catalyze innovation and foster reform at a grassroots level. Mavuno is Swahili for “Harvest,” and collaboratively with other non-profit organizations, governmental organizations, and local institutions, we envision a bountiful harvest in DRC. Mavuno is an approved 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization.

If you want to learn more about David Masomo and the Mavuno story, watch this 3-minute video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VusQy0qbVqo

Lastly, our monthly partners are the heartbeat of Mavuno, and make the day-in, day-out participatory development work possible. We call our monthly giving program "Harvest of Hope," and our partners are called "Hope Planters." For just $25 per month, you can become a Hope Planter today, empowering the Congolese to change their own nation from the inside out. Sign up here: http://mavunocongo.org/donate
