Love Heals!

Julie began her fight in 2002 and then got severely ill in 2009, becoming mostly bedridden. Doctors dismissed her because they couldn't easily figure out what was wrong. As her health got increasingly worse, she and her partner Luann, knew they had to do something. Working around the clock researching diseases online, they finally had some idea of what this could be: a rare disease caused by a tumor that releases too much ACTH. Cushing's Disease, if left untreated is fatal. Seeing that tumor on the MRI was the best scenario because now she could have surgery and head towards recovery. But this journey is a long one. Her body has been used to high levels of ACTH for many years. After the tumor is removed, she will have to go through a sort of withdrawal, causing horrific symptoms. She will spend the next 1-3 years on synthetic hormones to "wake up" her pituitary in hopes it will function properly and she can have her life back!
