Help the Victims of the West Newton Car Crash at Sweet Tomatoes

I'm launching this fundraiser with my daughter, Cate Waters, a sophomore at Newton North High School. We live just a few blocks from the site of the crash, which occurred at 6pm on Tuesday, March 1st.

Sadly, two people were killed and seven were injured.

Like many families in West Newton, we've eaten at Sweet Tomatoes Pizza many times and know all too well that any one of s could ave been bee sitting in he restaurant when the accident happened.
  
We've set up this page to raise money for the two people who lost their lives Tuesday night. We are awaiting notification that a fund(s) for the two victims has been established. We are asking Booster to wait until this is in place before disbursing any funds.
We're saddened by the loss of two wonderful Newtonites, and hope you'll support this fundraiser.

Gregory Morin, 32, of West Newton was on his way home from is job as a lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP in Boston when he stopped in to Sweet Tomatoes to pick up a pizza. Moments later, the SUV plowed through the front of the restaurant. Greg is survived by a wife and young child.



Elanor Miele, 57,an office manager at a Newton law firm, was also killed. She had stopped at the restaurant for pizza before heading to her church to stuff Easter baskets for the homebound and elderly, as she had every Easter f more than 20 years. She leaves behind her husband George. They were married 38 years.
