About this campaign

Brian Tracy has cancer.
It is in his brain.
It might be a part of him forever.
If that’s the case, he is not going to fight it himself.
He is going to love it instead.
Love it into submission.
Be one with it.
This kind of positivity should not go unrecognized.
Help the cause by spreading the good.

See Brian's story featured on King 5 News and the Phinneywood blog:

----------------------------------------------------------

Brian’s Story:"I was diagnosed with brain cancer in May 2015 as a healthy, active 32 year old male. My wife, Kim, was 3 months pregnant with our first child. It was not in our theoretical life plan to say the least! In the moments and days following the diagnosis we made the decision to deal with our unexpected obstacle with love, compassion and positivity. Our family and friends have fully supported our choice in incredible ways. Our daughter, Rosie, was brought into a world surrounded by love and hope even though her Dad was on chemotherapy. More than 7 months later, Rosie is growing and is a super happy baby. I am winding down my last phase of treatment in June/July completing over 1 year of radiation and chemotherapy. The prognosis is looking good right now."

Why Obliteride?"I am doing Obliteride because my life may depend on it someday. Fred Hutch does incredibleesearch right herin Seattle. I see a long life ahead of me, but having more tools to treat cancer may help save me and many others in the future. I chose not to fight my cancer, but love it away. I still have needed treatment and the more we understand about this disease the better.

"Secondly, I am using this 25-mile ride to Seward Park to motivate myself to work on my physical recovery due to effects of my tumor and treatment side effects. I want to ride with as many of my friends and family as possible!"

----------------------------------------------------------

The main goal of this campaign is not to make a ton of money, but to spread positivity in every way we can. All funds raised will be paid directly to Obliteride to fund lifesaving research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Since its inception, Obliteride has raised over $6.8 million for cancer research at Fred Hutch. Obliteride funds cancer research that leads to legendary achievements at Fred Hutch. Bone marrow transplantation and the finding that links HPV and cervical cancer prove that their scientists can convert an idea, like immuno-therapy, into reality; a cure.
