About this campaign

On Tuesday, September 19th, Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane María, a Category 4 hurricane-- the first that Puerto Rico had seen since 1932. It passed right through the center of Puerto Rico, devastating the whole island and leaving it without power. Many families lost their homes or lack food and water. Most hospitals are without power and cannot provide the care that their patients need, and the few hospitals that are open are in danger of shutting down because they are running out of diesel to run their generators. This only begins to describe the devastation in Puerto Rico. United for Puerto Rico is an organization created by the First Lady of Puerto Rico to aid in recovery from Hurricane María. All proceeds from this shirt will go toward United for Puerto Rico.

Many residents of Connecticut have relatives in Puerto Rico, and suffered the despair of not being able to contact their friends and family to know whether they were okay. Did they survive the storm? If they did, do they have enough food and water?

In order to show the University of Connecticut's support for Puerto Rico, this shirt depicts the UConn Husky with Puerto Rico's national animal-- the coquí. This is a call to our fellow Huskies to help aid Puerto Ricans, and show them that they are not alone.
