Westbury Community Garden - 2017 T-shirt Fundraiser

Westbury Community Garden serves the Westbury neighborhood in southwest Houston by leasing 62 organic allotment garden plots, at low cost, to neighborhood families and maintains orchards, a nationally certified butterfly habitat garden, compost and rain catchment systems, a tree farm and a naturalized pocket prairie. In partnership with Plant-It-Forward Farms' urban agriculture training program, two acres are cultivated by Congolese refugee market farmers. Classes and events for adults and children are held in the garden's outdoor learning pavilion.

The Westbury Community Garden is one of the largest, most successful community gardens in Houston. The garden has won both local and national awards. As our mission: “The Westbury Community Garden educates adults and children about good nutrition and ecology, strengthens community spirit, provides organically-grown food, and serves as a gathering place for the community.” The garden’s slogan is “Growing Community through Gardening” and that is exactly what it does.
