About this campaign

In 2016, our supporters helped us raise $21,000 for the American Kestrel Partnership! If you missed the chance to get the 2016 T, well here's you chance! Many thanks for your support! Collect each year's design: Check out our 2017 Fundraiser to get shirts, tote bags, and coffee mugs (try.bonfire.com/akp2017/)!

Every purchased T-shirt and additional tax-deductible donation will help support American Kestrel (Falco sparverius) conservation science. The American Kestrel Partnership is an international project initiated by The Peregrine Fund in 2012 in response to the long term decline of American Kestrels.

**Please note: Shirt styles and colors will be slightly different than in previous campaigns.

The American Kestrel Partnership represents one of the newest projects of The Peregrine Fund. The American Kestrel has been in decline since at least the 1960s. However, as of yet, there has been no rigorous scientific evidence to explain the decline. Several hypotheses have been proposed, but there has been no study that points to a definitive cause for these declines. Our partners across the western hemisphere monitor kestrel boxes and report their data on our interactive website. Partners contribute in other ways as well, including through education outreach, monetary donations or donations of art and photographs, and by spreading the word about our work. You can become a partner here. Our objective is to use partnership data to begin to understand the causes of decline of our smallest falcon. By sporting your American Kestrel T-shirt, we hope you will engage in conversations regarding the mysterious decline of the American Kestrel and the role of the American Kestrel Partnership in uncovering the cause(s) leading to the species' decline. Thanks for your support!

The Peregrine Fund, established in 1970, is the leading international organization charged with conserving birds of prey around the world. The non-profit organization was established in response to the rapid decline of Peregrine Falcons due to the use of the pesticide DDT, which caused nest failure due to eggshell thinning. The Peregrine Falcon was the very first species to be listed on the Endangered Species Act. In 199 due largely tthe efforts of The Perrine Fund, the species had covered to a point where they no longer needed protection by the Endangered Species Act and so they were de-listed. Today, The Peregrine Fund supports conservation of birds of prey globally.

We extend our deepest gratitude to artist Scott Partridge (www.jevaart.com) who generously dated his "Kestls" piece, re-purposed specifically for the 2016 American Kestrel Partnership's T-Shirt Fundraiser. Excerpt from Scott's Artist Statement: "My aesthetic instincts are directed by cues from nature, geometry, the personalities of shapes, as well as the precedents and insular logic a piece establishes for itself as it develop I gravitate towards what I find beautiful, but also unsettling."
